Ireland has a vast history and is well known for its love of Guinness and Irish Stew. The Irish are famous for their ability to throw a brilliant party and are renowned for having a good time. St Patrick’s night is celebrated in England and bars, pubs and clubs across the country give out Irish hats, pints of Guinness and play lots of Irish music to entertain the guests. Northern Ireland was once a no go zone for tourists, as the war between the Protestants and Catholics blighted the area for many years, making the Shankhill Road area a no go zone for many years. The memories of the battle between the two religions is still evident to this day, and there are murals which line the end of the houses, with pictures of soldiers and guns. Some people see this as a bad memory, others consider it a part of history and one which must not be forgotten as many people lost their lives during this battle.
