Dear supporter,

With you, I want to make this headline (above) a reality. I intend to be among the first Green Party politicians to enter the Northern Ireland Assembly to help bring about change for good and change for all. With your help this can happen.

It's time to move on

Despite the current difficulties with the devolved Assembly and the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement, we believe that we are witnessing the long-overdue emergence of a new kind of politics: focusing more and more on quality of life issues and the protection of our precious environment. There is now an opportunity to take forward a new progressive agenda of ideas, policies and alternatives in Northern Ireland. We have policies on the economy, transport, creating safer communities and protecting the natural and built environments.

In taking our policies forward, we'll be building on the electoral successes of Green Parties in the Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland and the rest of Europe. In many countries, such as Germany, Greens now sit in Government and influence policy-making at home and in the international arena.

As you know there is an upcoming election in May and the Green Party needs financial and other support to help build a credible campaign. We are a small party and while we are extremely grateful for the volunteer support we get from party members and others, fighting a modern electoral campaign and maintaining an effective political party requires financial and professional support.

Every contribution counts for a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable community

This is what you can do to help: Have a look at our shopping list of expenses for the forthcoming Assembly Election campaign and consider making a contribution to fund or part-fund a specific item. Alternatively, you might be in a position to make a contribution in-kind e.g. a print run, office equipment, telephone/fax etc.
